Shopping Actions Product Data Feed Build Guidelines
Google Shopping Actions pivots off an already established Google feed. What you will need to do at a minimum is opt products into Google Shopping Actions and add some additional fields.
Products not allowed
Opting products in
You can opt all products in, or only a subset of products. Check with the client first. They may want to only run certain product categories, or they may want to start off testing just a subset of their best-performing products. Also, note that there are some policies and restrictions over what products can be sold on Shopping Actions. Any products that do not comply with these criteria will need to be excluded from Shopping Actions
Opting ALL products in
- Login to the merchant center
Go to the existing product feed
- Go to settings & click on the 'Country of sale, language, and destinations' that is already set up.
- Add Shopping Actions
- ALL of your products will now be included Shopping Actions
- This is the easiest option, with no additional fields.
To opt in only a subset of products, you have two options
- Opt all products into the main product feed as detailed above and then individually opt individual products out or,
- leave the exisiting feed as it is (do not opt it in) and rather opt in individual products
Now all of the above can be done in two ways
- by editing the main product feed (adding new fields to achieve the above)
- or by adding a supplemental feed (preffered). It is always best to leave exisiting feeds as they are, and do your Shopping Actions work in a seperate supplemental feed.
Now, what are the available fields, and what do they do?

Specify min and max handling time in the feed
To specify the number of business days between the time an order is placed and when that item leaves the warehouse, use the min_handling_time and max_handling_time attributes in your feed. Google uses min_handling_time and max_handling_time, combined with the transit time specified in your shipping settings, to estimate the delivery date. Orders are considered late if they're not shipped within the specified max handling time.
Specify the quantity of an item to sell on Google (optional)
You can specify the number of individual SKUs available for Shopping Actions by using the sell_on_google_quantity attribute. If you provide an item-level sell_on google_quantity, Google updates the quantity available for purchase each time you sell an item.
Specify return policy and return address
Use the return_policy_label and return_address_label attributes to specify the return policy and return address for each item you submit. Learn more about setting up returns policies and return addresses for Shopping Actions in your Merchant Center account.
